Chantler Timber are Britain’s largest round hardwood purchasers. with a team of buyers situated throughout the UK and Europe, we seek to purchase all the major hardwood species and selected softwood. Trees can be bought standing or felled. We have our own equipment and contractors to fell and extract with minimal damage to woodland.
We can offer help with licenses and grants, advice on the selection of trees for felling and free valuations of standing timber.

Mike Chantler
Chairman Sales Mike Chantler joined his father's sawmill in the 70's. His time here was spent learning the trade and working in Europe and Asia to gain experience in the Veneer industry. Mike is now Chairman but also oversees the team and is responsible for the sales and customer relations. |
Chris Hyde
Managing Director European Timber Buyer Chris Hyde Joined Chantler Timber in the 80's as a Timber Buyer after previously working in the timber industry since the early 70's. Chris is responsible for the buying and selling of our European hardwood and is also the managing director of the company. |
Ian Symons
Director UK Timber Buyer Ian Symons has a BSC in Forestry obtained at Bangor University he joined Chantler Timber in the 90's as a Timber Buyer and is responsible for the buying and selling of our UK hardwoods and softwoods, Ian is also a Director of the company. |
Janet O'Neill
Secretary Sales Janet joined Chantler Timber in the late 90's and is responsible for the secretarial side of the business together with sales invoicing and office management along with the weekly organization of our European haulage. |
Charles Hyde
Buyer Yard Foreman Charles joined Chantler Timber in 2009 as a trainee Timber Buyer he now travels throughout the UK and Europe with Ian and Chris constantly widening his knowledge on the timber trade. He also oversees our yard at Chantler Timber. |
Carlos Graca
Yard Worker Firewood Deliveries Carlos is responsible for production of our firewood and the deliveries to customers throughout north Staffordshire and south Cheshire, he is also in charge of keeping the yard nice and tidy and the loading and unloading of the wagons. |
